What Is the Parent Cue?

The Parent Cue provides articles to champion parents as you fight for relationship with your student(s). It gives you a description of what is talked about each week in the series to help you connect with your student about spiritual issues, and a question after each session to prompt both parent and student to dialog about those issues. Parents are also encouraged to participate along with your teens in some of the experiential activities (XP) tied to specific series.

What Is Orange?

What is the Orange curriculum?

Orange is a strategy to combine the light of the Church (yellow) with the love of the Home (red) to create a coordinated, unified effort to lead your children spiritually.

Try this math formula on for size: 2 > 1 + 1.  Now, any mathematician out there will tell me that formula isn't true!  And mathematically speaking, they're right!  But with Orange, the proposition is that 2, unified and working together (church & home), are greater than each individual unit trying to lead alone.

At UCC, from birth to seniors in high school, we are attempting to work together with you, the parent, to lead your son or daughter in the wonder of God, the discovery of who each individual student is and how he or she relates to God, and the passion to serve Him.

Specifically, in the youth ministry classes, we are using Orange's XP3 Student curriculum, the goal of which is to FUEL PASSION in the heart of a teenager.

The XP3 curriculum is designed to leave teens with the lasting understanding that:
  • I am created to pursue an authentic relationship with my Creator.
  • I belong to Jesus Christ and define who I am by what He says.
  • I exist every day to demonstrate God's love to a broken world.
